Connection Issues and Troubleshooting - rTrader/Rithmic
If you are having issues connecting to Rtrader or Rithmic in Ninja Trader please follow the steps below and check out the step by step video for Troubleshooting. These are the only troubleshooting steps available and will fix any issues you may have. There are not other or extra steps that can be given from the Help Desk or the Live Chat beyond these steps, so please make sure to go through them slowly one at a time and your issue will be fixed. This is the fastest way to get you up and running without delay, as these are the steps required:
Make sure you have downloaded and installed Rtrader and logged in and agreed to the two sets of agreement terms in order for your data connection to work properly.
Top Troubleshooting Steps for connection issues- make sure you have correctly followed the steps below for both Rtrader and Ninjatrader:
RTrader:
Proper username and password
System: Apex
Gateway: Chicago Area
Then log in and agree to the two terms of use
If issues connecting ongoing, close RTrader, clear and cache from Ninja -if applicable and cache from browsers, restart computer and Rtrader
Ninjatrader:
DON’T EVEN TRY to set up anything in Ninjatrader until you followed all steps above for Rtrader and have agreed to the two terms of use and disclosures!
Input the Apex ninja License Key into your Ninjatrader ( unless you already have your own live license key- and not one provided by another funding company) to further help reduce any issues. This can be found in your welcome email or in your members area of the website once you log in. Under Nt > HELP? > License Key
Set Up Connection-
Make sure to enter you Rithmic Username and password correctly, with no extra spaces before or after
Under System choose from drop down: Apex
Hit ok and Apply

The Apex Trader Funding Help Desk and Live Chat does not have additional Troubleshooting Steps beyond this. If you submit a ticket or chat, these are the steps that they will respond with, as these are the steps for set up. The only additional steps that can be taken is to completely uninstall and reinstall rTrader and Ninjatrader8, then follow these steps one by one. So please carefully review these steps and the step by step set up in your members area to assure proper set up.
